Who Needs Air Freight?

Production Lines Down

A critical component has failed and every hour of downtime costs thousands. Air freight gets the replacement part to your factory in days, not weeks.

Exhibition Equipment

Trade shows don't wait. Booths, displays, and demo units need to arrive before setup day. Air freight ensures your presence at the event.

High-Value Electronics

Semiconductors, circuit boards, and precision instruments benefit from the speed and careful handling that air cargo provides.

Trial Shipments

Testing a new market or supplier? Send a small batch by air to validate product quality and customer demand before committing to a full container.

Seasonal Goods

Fashion collections, holiday merchandise, and promotional items have fixed selling windows. Air freight ensures you don't miss the season.

When Ocean Freight Is the Better Choice

Over 500kg, Not Time-Sensitive

Air freight rates are calculated by chargeable weight. For heavy shipments without urgency, ocean freight offers dramatically lower costs per kilogram.

Bulk Raw Materials

Steel, plastic resin, textiles by the roll — these commodities move economically by sea. The cost difference for bulk shipments can be 10–15x.

14+ Day Timelines Are Fine

If your delivery schedule has room for 2–4 weeks of transit, ocean freight will save you significant money without any operational risk.

Exhibition Equipment in Dubai by Monday?

📅

It's Wednesday. Your booth materials are in Shenzhen. The trade show opens in Dubai on Monday morning. You have 5 days — including customs clearance on both ends.

Direct flights from Shenzhen to Dubai run daily. With pre-arranged customs documentation and a ground team at destination, the cargo can clear and deliver within 24 hours of landing.

BY-LINE coordinates the pickup, export declaration, air booking, destination clearance, and final delivery — all under one invoice and one point of contact.

This isn't hypothetical. We've done it. Wednesday pickup to Monday delivery — 5 calendar days, door to door.

Air Freight Services

Express Air Freight

The fastest option. Your cargo rides on the next available flight, typically arriving within 1–3 days. Ideal for urgent spare parts, emergency replacements, and time-critical documents.

Standard Air Freight

Balanced speed and cost. Your shipment is consolidated with other cargo on scheduled flights. Transit times of 3–5 days with competitive rates for non-urgent air shipments.

Consolidated Air Cargo

Multiple small shipments combined into one master consignment for better rates. Ideal when you have regular small shipments to the same region and can allow a 1–2 day consolidation window.

Air Charter

When your cargo is too large or urgent for scheduled flights, we arrange dedicated charter aircraft. Suitable for project cargo, oversized equipment, or mass emergency shipments.

Case Study

Exhibition Equipment to Dubai in 5 Days — Wednesday to Monday

Challenge: A Chinese manufacturer of commercial display systems had a booth at a major Dubai trade show opening Monday morning. On Wednesday, they confirmed their booth materials — including 3 large LED display walls and demo units — were still in Shenzhen, 6,500 km away.

Solution: BY-LINE arranged same-day trucking from Shenzhen to PVG airport. We pre-filed export customs documentation while the cargo was in transit. At Dubai, our ground agent had import clearance pre-arranged with all commercial documents ready. A dedicated truck was waiting at DXB airport for immediate delivery to the exhibition hall.

Result: Cargo picked up Wednesday afternoon, cleared Dubai customs Sunday morning, and delivered to the exhibition hall by Sunday afternoon. Setup was completed Sunday evening — one full day before the show opened. Total transit: 5 calendar days, door to door.

How It Works

1

Urgent Quote

Send cargo details — weight, dimensions, commodity, and destination. For urgent shipments, we return rates within 2–4 hours, not 24.

2

Booking & Pickup

Once confirmed, we book space on the optimal flight and arrange trucking to pick up your cargo from any location in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, or Shanghai.

3

Customs Clearance

We handle export customs at origin and pre-arrange import documentation for destination. This minimizes delays at both ends of the journey.

4

Air Transit

Your cargo flies to destination. We provide flight details and tracking so you know exactly when the aircraft lands and when to expect delivery.

5

Delivery

On arrival, our destination agent clears customs and arranges final delivery to your door, your warehouse, or directly to the event venue.

Air Freight FAQ

Air freight rates depend on weight, dimensions, commodity, and destination. As a general range, expect $4–$8 per kg to Southeast Asia, $5–$10 per kg to the Middle East, and $6–$12 per kg to Europe or North America. Send us your cargo details for an exact quote — we respond within hours.

Standard commercial aircraft handle individual pieces up to approximately 3,000 kg and lengths up to 6 meters. For heavier or longer items, charter aircraft or specialized cargo planes may be required. Most commercial shipments under 5,000 kg total can be accommodated on scheduled flights with proper advance notice.

Yes, but with stricter limitations than ocean freight. IATA regulations classify dangerous goods into categories — some are forbidden on passenger aircraft but allowed on cargo-only flights. We'll need the MSDS and proper classification to determine the best routing and carrier options for your DG shipment.

Airlines charge based on whichever is greater: the actual gross weight or the volumetric (dimensional) weight. Volumetric weight is calculated as Length × Width × Height (in cm) ÷ 6,000. For example, a 100 kg shipment measuring 120×80×60 cm has a volumetric weight of 96 kg, so you'd be charged on the actual 100 kg.

Absolutely. We handle the complete chain: pickup from your factory, export customs, air freight, destination customs clearance, and final delivery to your specified address. One invoice, one point of contact, no coordination gaps between vendors.
